The way back from the flats the wind picked up pretty good and the waves were rolling, no white caps but big enough. Going full throttle through them, my dad did catch a bit of water. The sidewalls are pretty low, the canoe tended to go through the waves instead of riding them like a kayak. It is definitely a calm water boat. Essentially, I probably wouldn't fish it in conditions rougher/windier than what I would take my yak in.
The added room of the canoe was fantastic, and being able to move around and stand on the bench or platform when trying to sight cast was awesome. With the low sidewalls, it really didnt get blown around while drifting the flats. I can see a push pole being really useful on it. Overall Im extremley happy with the investment. It's a blast to fish from and the ability to cover so much more water is going to open up a lot of new fishing holes.
